8 Things to Consider Before Making a Blog Post

Introduction

No doubt. Blogging has become one of the most powerful tools to connect to the world. It has been used to express one’s thoughts, feelings, or experience but its purpose was raised to a higher level by millions of people by linking it to every business at the present time as they see it really works!

However, there are some things you have to consider before making any blog post. Yes, it’s easy to write a blog but since you aim to attract the potential audience to your website, you can’t just write about anything under the sun. As experts say, an effective blogger should not blow his own horn nor publish a post that’s not related to his own business and yet you have to make a strategy to make your blog post successfully. If you are about to start your blogging career, below are some important things to consider that will help you to create a strategic plan you can use to ensure that your blog post will become attractive and catchy to the audience.

The Details

  • Know the purpose. First things first, you should know the purpose of your blog. Is it because you want to promote a product or service? Or you just want to post it for fun? You can also write a personal blog that can be linked back to your website if that’s what you want them to know. You just have to make the client understand what your blog is all about.
  • Who is the target audience? This is very important. You should write blogs that match your target audience’s interest. If they are to be a potential client you want them to be interested in what you have to say. So you need to write about what they want and need to know.
  • Choose your own style.  Every blog must attract audiences so setting your own style and your own voice in your own way is quite important. You can be completely professional or casual in your postings, but just make sure you’re doing it in your own way.
  • Think before you post. Be a responsible blogger. Don’t just write and post. Be you’re your content is good and helpful. Remember that there are lots of audiences or readers out there that will judge you especially when you’ve included private details about your life. Know the consequence and always think first before you post.
  • Add in useful information. Obviously, no one will read your blog if it is boring or filled with useless information. It is fine to write a casual post since you are promoting your business or service, just like you are talking face to face, but offer your readers some useful and important information. Make sure it has information that they can use and will make them return to your website to catch more useful information over time.
  • Gaining readership and followers. After posting your blog, finding readers and followers is the next thing to do. You probably already have friends and customers that you connect with on social media. Use every avenue you can to get as many people as possible to your blog. We are now living in a high-tech world where most people are involved in lots of social networking sites. You can start building back-links and links to your blog through your email signatures, so it won’t be that hard to get readers.
  • Set a regular posting schedule. This is really important, especially after you gain readership. Your readers will visit your site on the days you post to see your new posts.
  • Be ready. Just in case you’re one of those people who are not capable of writing an appealing, captivating content, then you can opt to have someone who can do the work for you. Someone that was equipped with experience and writing skills.

The Bottom Line

To write a blog is easy but no one would ever say that blogging “excellently” is easy. It’s not the same as writing your childhood diary or just a simple strategy for selling. It is about building a strong bond and long lasting-relationship with your customers and potential customers. In this way, they will put their trust on you, stick with you, and will suggest you to other people as well.
